Do you suffer from chronic pain?
Need a Chronic Pain Doctor?
There are tens of millions of people in the United States who suffer from chronic pain. Chronic pain is a serious medical condition and it is notoriously difficult to treat. Unfortunately, the common prescribing and over prescribing of opioids has led to an epidemic of opioid addiction. The PT team at GCR understands this. Our team is unique in the Western Maryland Region in that we collaborate directly and in-person with physicians and mid-level practitioners who treat chronic pain. We also understand that there are many ways to treat chronic pain without total reliance on opioids or other medications. So how does our team approach your chronic pain?
WE TEACH methods for decreasing the frequency and duration of painful episodes.
WE SELECT interventions that may decrease dependence on opioids
WE COLLABORATE with our on-site team of pain management specialist practitioners and physicians
WE HELP you identify specific activities that aggravate your pain.
WE IMPLEMENT home exercise programs or other home-based interventions.
WE ENCOURAGE healthy lifestyles and provide referrals to other disciplines, like nutrition and behavioral health.
